YOGA FOR EQUESTRIANS

Join us as we explore the amazing similarities between the practice of yoga and the art of horsemanship. Yoga is a system of exercises created to help merge all aspects of ourselves; mind, body and spirit. It is very easy to use these same exercises to incorporate the mind, body and horse. Strengthening these skills improves our awareness and our ability to communicate with horses.

Both yoga and riding are based upon awareness, balance and breathing in rhythm to movement. By learning some basic breathing and stretching exercises we heighten our awareness and ability to focus on the elements that will improve our riding.

The workshop will begin with exploring the similarities of yoga and riding - starting with how vital our breathing is and how yoga can improve balance, flexibility and awareness. After learning some breathing exercises we will move into focused stretching. Yoga feels good (we all know how good it feels to stretch) and energizes our bodies and minds. We will practice several poses and discuss ways to integrate yoga into your riding program.

We will finish up by practicing what we have learned on horseback. Horses will be provided. We would also like to invite you to bring a sack lunch and join us following the workshop for a picnic. We will provide the drinks and desert!

Class size is limited to 6 participants so reserve your space early!
